Nortel BCM Support & Programming
The BCM was Nortel's small and mid-size business platform, and there are still a lot of them running in Canada doing exactly what they were installed to do. Avaya has long since moved on. Carriers will not touch them.
We will. Our technicians work in Business Element Manager regularly, and most BCM work is remote work.
Systems we support
BCM50 (including release 6.0), BCM200, BCM400 and BCM450, with the T-series and IP handsets that hang off them.
What we do on BCM systems
- Add, move and reprogram sets — extensions, display names, line appearances, button layouts
- CallPilot voicemail: boxes, greetings, auto-attendant, routing tables
- Call routing, ring groups, hunt groups and time-of-day changes
- Diagnose registration failures, one-way audio and sets that will not come up
- Back up your configuration so a failure is a restore rather than a rebuild
- Work through keycode and licensing questions before you buy hardware you cannot use
A word about keycodes
BCM features and capacity are unlocked by keycodes tied to the system. That matters when you are buying second-hand: a BCM chassis on its own does not carry someone else's licensing, and what a system is entitled to is not always what the last installer left switched on. We will check what your system actually holds before you spend money on it, and we say the same thing to anyone buying a system from us.
How remote support works
- Tell us the system and what it is doing.
- We arrange a window and sort out remote access.
- We do the work and tell you what we found.
Smaller than you bought, we refund the difference. Much bigger, we stop and tell you first.
What it costs
$185 per hour. 30-minute minimum, then 15-minute increments. Projects and migrations are quoted.
Hardware
We carry renewed BCM systems and compatible handsets, bench-tested and warrantied.
