Allworx phones are powered over Ethernet. If your network switch supplies PoE, you do not need this — plug the phone into the network and it powers up.
If your switch does not supply PoE, the phone will not power on at all without an adapter. This is it. You need one per phone.
Do I need one?
- You have a PoE switch or a PoE injector — no adapter needed.
- You are plugging into a regular office switch or a wall jack — you need one of these for each phone.
- Not sure? Look at your existing phones. If they have a power brick at the wall, order an adapter for each new phone.
Specifications
- Output 24V DC, 400 mA
- Input 100–240V AC, 50/60 Hz
- 5.5 mm × 2.5 mm centre-positive barrel connector
- Wall adapter style
Stock is a mix of genuine Allworx 8400006 supplies and third-party equivalents built to the same specification. They are electrically identical and carry the same warranty — we ship whichever we have on the shelf.
Compatibility
One adapter covers the whole Allworx handset range:
Verge 9308 · Verge 9312 · 9224 · 9212L · 9212 · 9204 · 9202E · 9112 · 9102
One caveat. If you are chaining more than one Verge 9318Ex expander onto a single handset, the current draw can exceed what this adapter supplies. Email us before you order and we will work out what you need.
Why we sell these separately
Most buyers already have PoE and do not need one. Bundling an adapter into every phone would mean charging everyone for something most people put straight in a drawer.
